The average person today buys five times more clothing than they did in 1980 and throws most of it away within a year. Fast fashion has made clothes so cheap that we treat them as disposable. Meanwhile textile waste is one of the biggest environmental pollutants on the planet. We have been sold the idea that wearing something new every week is normal. It is not normal and the planet cannot sustain it.
